About

Hi, this is Maxwell Jay.

Articles in my blog are mostly written in Chinese. However, some special ones may be written in English.

# Basic Information

  • Undergraduate student of Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen. Majoring in Automation since 2022.
  • I call myself A large flappy moth. This nickname comes from Ayu in Arcaea (She’s not a moth, though).
  • One of the initiators and members of HITSZ OpenAuto organization.
  • My ideal is to be a helpful open source developer.
  • Skills I have acclaimed: C/C++, Python, Linux, $LaTeX$, SolidWorks, ROS, Arduino, ESP32.
  • I’m learning: C#, STM32, circuit design.

I don’t have any expertise in the field of computer science. I think I’m more suitable for writing documents, managing files, and maintaining websites.

As for the automation major, it has been my dream since childhood, so I will learn what I want to learn at all costs.

# Personal Experience

# September 2022

# October 2023

# Working Habits

  • 🧙‍♂️ I work alone and rarely ask for help.
  • ⏰ Morning bird🐦 instead of night owl🦉. I usually won’t do anything related to study and work after 22:00.
  • 💻 VS Code for everything; Windows 11 with WSL2 (Ubuntu 20.04) + NUC11 with Ubuntu 22.04
  • 🎧 I almost always listen to music when I work.
  • 📧 MS Office 365 workflow, OneDrive, OneNote, Outlook.

# Hobbies

First I have to say what is not discussed.

  • Movies, usually just one or two cinema visits a year. I really don’t like watching movies.

That’s all.

# Rhythm Games

Rhythm games are basically the only type of game I’ve played from high school until now, and I rarely touch other types of games, or I give them up after playing for a short time.

Influenced by rhythm games, I became a fan of Touhou Project in the summer vacation of 2023, mainly watching Doujins. (It’s 2023 and there are still people who become fans of Touhou😹)

I have played almost all mobile rhythm games and have left the novice stage, but now only osu!mania is still frequently played. I have reduced the time on rhythm games recently.

# Electronic Music

I listen to music almost all the time.

The genres I often listen to are Japanese Trance and Drum & Bass. Most of them come from artists from HARDCORE TANO*C and Diverse System.

You are welcome to know more of my music collection. You won’t be disappointed.

# Sports

I have been watching 🏎️ Formula One since 2020. However I am not a fan of any team or driver. I just watch races for fun.

In spare time I would take a walk in parks, or climb mountains.

Can rhythm games, especially arcade rhythm games be considered as sport?🤭
